Sitaram Kattel a.k.a. Dhurmus is a popular Nepali comedian, actor and director. He was one of the main characters of the popular Nepali TV series ‘Meri Bassai’. He has also presently established himself as a social worker and is one of the founders of Dhurmus-Suntali Foundation which has recently constructed 67 houses for the earthquake victims in Sindhupalchowk. He shares with Prasuma Rawal of Republica five things about him many may not know.He is an active cleanliness campaigner. He has been involved in various campaigns such as Open Defecation Free villages, Clean Bagmati and so on. He wants to be continuously involved in these activities. He believes that a person can attain a healthy state of mind only if their environment is clean. He says he wants to see Nepal as a clean, green and a healthy state.Kattel’s talent does not seem to be limited only in the screens. He loves drawing sketches and portraying canvas of people and scenery during his leisure time. However, due to his busy schedule he hasn’t been able to give time to art these days. He also used to design banners for various events and still has interest in designing. He further shares that his love for art and designing has played a huge role for visualizing the idea of constructing villages for earthquake victims.
